| Does procurebot improve existing Catalogs? |
Definitively YES. If Catalogs are the intelligent core of the procurement process their Thesauri could be defined as the Core of the Intelligent Core. The Catalog Thesaurus is the collection of Catalog "keywords" closely associated to its logical structure. Thesauri behave like Universal Jargons that identify industrial activities better than their respective Catalogs and are a gateway to communicate with other standards.
Procurebot are well suited to facilitate the extraction of Thesauri from Catalogs. Once a Thesaurus is retrieved procurebot could be used to facilitate the Catalog "cleaning", eliminating ambiguities and noise, and the analysis of synonyms.
