Procurebot is an Intelligent Agent trained to emulate and to perform autonomously all type of e-Procurement tasks, namely:
- Price requisitions,
- Technical requisitions,
- Communications gateways with suppliers,
- Orders for Materials issuing,
- Search of specialized e-Procurement content, and
- Retrieval of Catalog data and intelligence
It may be implemented and used in any type of information system scenario and for any type of business and size of operations. It could be implemented in a small business company performing most of the above mentioned tasks and as a complementary aid/facilitator in already Integrated Information Systems of big corporations. You may imagine Procurebot as an extraordinary and efficient employee robot, easy to train and with an almost unlimited learning capacity that also could be "settled and tuned up" to any "working environment" and that could be cloned as much as necessary (see Agents Tasks).
Agents are very useful tools in any management cycle because they may be initially used with maximum caution, to check what happen, how it works, how efficient it is, at low cost and at low risk besides. For instance we may choose a sub cycle and perform similar tasks "in parallel" via procurebot trying to excel on them, to perform them more efficiently. We may go a step further connecting procurebot through a sort of "bypass". The advantage of these "soft robots" is that they could add a significant efficiency to the system as a whole. These bypasses are "alive" with an almost unlimited learning capability.
Conceptually our procurebot behaves as a unique agent that could be activated by step-modules. Basically it performs "Pricing Matchmaking", "Technical Requisition and Technical Knowledge Base Gathering", through its First Step Module. It could be immediately upgraded via its Second Step Module, that performs the e-Procurement itself, basically the tool to implement a "materials duct" among suppliers and the corporation to which procurebot belongs. Finally it has a Third Step Module that enables the corporation to build/improve its Procurement Knowledge Base, Buyer Catalogs, Suppliers Catalogs, and a Suppliers Community.
